What’s the CB2 Oil difference?
While other plant medicine oils and CB2™ will often result in very similar results, the way they work is different. Our Cannanda CB2™ terpene blend is formulated to directly activate CB2 receptors, which are one of the main receptors of our bodies’ endocannabinoid system. Other oils, on the other hand, have a very low affinity for CB2 receptors, so direct activation of CB2 receptors does not happen with them. Instead, they can help our endocannabinoid system in indirect ways, including :
- “Allosteric modification” of cannabinoid receptors. These receptors can take on various configurations, and can be found in “inactive” forms, so other oils can “prime” them, making them easier to activate.
- Other oils are competitive inhibitors of FABPs (fatty acid binding proteins), which are the proteins that bind our endocannabinoids for removal out of the body. They bind to FABPs preventing them from shuttling our endocannabinoids out of the body.
- Other oils also activate the 5-HT receptors (similar to serotonin) and D2 receptors (like dopamine does) along with a number of other potential receptors (either as an activator or inhibitor) …but again, not so much a direct activation on either CB1 or CB2 receptors.
How they complement each other
While most will use our CB2™ products as a cost-effective alternative to other plant medicine oils, and get great results, the best results, are realized once you combine Cannanda CB2™ with Other plant medicine oils. Especially in individuals whose receptors may not be in the ideal configuration, Other oils in conjunction with CB2 will help put receptors in the “open” position, and then allow the terpenes to activate them appropriately.
Using Cannanda CB2™ in combination with other oils gives users the potential opportunity to maintain a great response to lower your dose with other oils, thereby saving money. Further, with Cannanda CB2™, there is no real risk of adverse substance interactions, or risk of positive results on substance tests, which are two known risks with other plant medicine oils.
